ART NORTH 2025 is a visual arts competition for artists who live or work in the greater Cincinnati area, including
Southern Ohio, Southeast Indiana, and Northern Kentucky.
The Sharonville Cultural Arts Center is seeking
artists working in painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass, textiles, and mixed media for
a competition and exhibition to showcase the talents of visual artists in Cincinnati’s northernmost gallery.
Cash prizes will be awarded from within the select group of artists whose work is chosen for the 7th annual exhibition of visual arts and fine crafts competition.
1 Grand Prize $100
Plus a contract for 4-week solo exhibition at the Westheimer Gallery in 2026
2 Juror’s Awards $50
All artists entering the competition will be considered for solo or group shows at the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center in 2026 and beyond.
CALENDAR
August 31, 2025 – Deadline for submission: 11:59 p.m.
Week of September 22 – Artists will be notified via email.
October 25 and 26th 2025 (Day – times TBD) –
The chosen work will be accepted at the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center, Westheimer Gallery for installation.
Friday, November 7, 2025 6 – 8 p.m. Exhibition Opening: Reception and Awards Ceremony. Westheimer Gallery and Theater at the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center
November 7, 2025 – December 13, 2025 – Art North 2025 Exhibition
Saturday, December 13, after 4 p.m., OR Tuesday, December 16, 2025 – The artist must pick up their artwork or have provided pre-paid return packaging.

ELIGIBILITY
The artist must live or work in the greater Cincinnati area, including Southern Ohio, Southeast Indiana, and
Northern Kentucky.
ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
Materials:
Works may be created in select media and must be for sale. Innovative contemporary artwork is encouraged in the mediums of Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking, Glass, Ceramics, and Mixed Media.
Authorship:
Work eligible for consideration must be the result of independent effort and originality, that is, not a copy or
variation on the original design of another artist working in any medium.
Date of Work:
All entries must be NEW work – completed after January 1, 2024.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Submissions:
All work must be for sale, and the price listed. Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces for consideration.
Artist’s information must follow the entry format shown below and be submitted with images via the entry/payment form provided on this page by the August 31 deadline.

Entry Fee:
$35 (one entry fee for up to three submissions) Must be received by August 31, 2025. Payment must be made online: see entry/payment form on this page.
Entry Images:
Up to three (3) images may be submitted. Images should be in focus, clean, and clear. The work should appear as you would wish it to be reproduced (so that we may post images on our website and in social media).
Images must be of completed work, NO WORK IN PROGRESS.
Digital Image File Specifications:
FILE TYPE: JPG
Be sure each file is .JPG and carries the extension “.JPG”. The “JPG” file must be formatted to be PC PC-compatible. Acceptable resolution of 72 dpi; images should be no smaller than 1000 pixels on any side. Upon acceptance, artists may be asked for high-resolution images.
File Naming:
“Artist’s Last nameFirst name_1.jpg” and _2.jpg for image 2; _3.jpg for image 3
Example: SmithJoe_1.jpg; SmithJoe_2.jpg; SmithJoe_3.jpg
Those who submit 3D work may include an additional detail image:
Example: work itself would be SmithJoe_1.jpg; detail of work would be SmithJoe_1d.jpg
Entry Form/Support Document:
Along with the images, artists are required to submit the completed entry form
Entry Notification:
Accepted artists will receive notification by the final week of September.
Agreement:
Submission of a work of art for consideration shall be understood to constitute an agreement on the part of the
artist to all the conditions set forth. This will also grant Sharonville Cultural Arts Center the rights to reproduce and distribute the images through print and electronic media for the promotion of the exhibition and entrants. The artist will retain all copyrights to their work.
INSURANCE
The artist is responsible for all insurance on the accepted artwork.
SALES
All artwork must be for sale. Normal gallery procedures will be followed in the event of a sale – the artist will be
paid 70%; Sharonville Cultural Arts Center will retain 30% of the retail price listed on the entry form. This
applies to any sales during the event or mediated by the gallery staff after the exhibition.
DELIVERY & PICKUP
Artists are responsible for delivering to and picking up their work from the Sharonville Cultural Arts Center on
the dates listed on the calendar.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS
Artists and the general public will be notified of the winners at the Art North opening party on Nov. 7 2025 in
person and via live stream.
